Raising awareness of homelessness

Schools Sleepout Poster A4

The Students at Notre Dame have the chance to get involved in a “Sleep Out” at school in communion with St Wilfrid’s centre and All Saints RC High School. It will be supervised by staff from Notre Dame and due to fire regulations and health and safety risk assessments, the number of places will be limited to 40.

We are proposing to sleep IN the sports hall here at Notre Dame on the night of 16th March 2018. At the same time St Wilfrid’s and the Archer project will also be running events including a ‘Sleep Out’ at Abbeydale picture house for families.

St Wilfrid’s is a charity centre that supports those who are homeless and was set up by the Catholic Community in Sheffield. They have asked if students who attend could pay a minimum donation of £5 and get sponsored for the event.

It has always been school’s policy to ensure as far as possible that a child’s educational experience is not impaired by financial hardship. It may therefore be possible in cases of financial hardship for the school to support you with the cost of this event. If you anticipate difficulty in meeting the full price of the event you should again indicate this in your contact with school. This will be dealt with confidentially.

If your son/daughter is interested please would you fill in the rely slip below and return it to the RE Office by Friday 16th February 2018. We will inform students who have ‘won’ a place on the event and send letters with the finer details after that.
