Carlo Acutis

Carlo Acutis (3 May 1991 – 12 October 2006) was an English-born Italian Catholic youth and amateur computer programmer, who is best known for documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world and cataloguing them onto a website which he created before his death from leukemia.

Our school was the first in the Diocese (or even the world!) to have the exhibition in school over a period of 3 weeks. Jacquie lead the Eucharistic encounter in school, giving our Y7-Y10 students a short synopsis of Blessed Carlo’s life and a chance to read, chat and question the content of a small number of the Miracle posters which were displayed in the prayer room. Time was made for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with a quiet time for prayer and reflection. Amazingly, we were blessed to be able to see and touch the reliquary holding a piece of Carlo’s hair.  All student prayers expressed on paper hearts will be sent to Assisi to the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
