Faith in Action Session – Our Active Love Builds the Kingdom of God

Recently, the Year 8 Bronze Award Faith in Action Team met with students from All Saints School for their latest session, led by Sue McDonald, Director for Youth in Hallam.

Sue guided our young people in exploring the meaning of the ‘Kingdom of God’ and reflecting on how this shapes the world around us. Through discussion and various activities, they considered how their individual roles contribute to building God’s Kingdom here on earth.

A key focus of the session was the life of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Students learned how she dedicated herself to serving those in extreme poverty, putting the needs of others before her own. Mother Teresa believed she was called by God to help those who were suffering, particularly in Calcutta, one of the world’s poorest cities.

This reflection helped our young people realise that the way we choose to live, alongside our personal relationship with God, has a profound impact on the choices we make and the world around us.

To conclude the session, we gathered in the Chapel, where Sue led a beautiful and prayerful liturgy.

We look forward to our next opportunity to come together as a Faith in Action group.

God Bless you.
