Following the announcement by Ofqual today (17th August), we are pleased to be able to report that students will now receive the higher of their Centre Assessed Grades and the moderated grades that were awarded by the exam boards last week.
Approximately 40% of the grades awarded to Notre Dame students last week were lowered by the exam boards – today’s announcement means that all of these grades will revert to the higher Centre Assessed Grades.
A small number of our Centre Assessed Grades were raised by the exam boards – today’s announcement provides reassurance that all of these grades will remain on the higher moderated grade. These grades will not be lowered.
To help you understand as soon as possible what grades you now have, we are currently preparing a document that we will email to each student. You should receive this email during the school day on Tuesday 18th August.
UCAS has said that they will be informing universities directly of your new grades.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of your grades, including registering for resits, please contact email@example.com
Please note that the deadline for registering with us to take resits is 1st September, with the autumn exam window running from 5th – 23rd October.
Please also note that Ofqual’s guidance does not allow schools to change Centre Assessed Grades. We have asked individual members of teaching staff not to discuss Centre Assessed Grades with students or parents. If you do have questions, please refer them to firstname.lastname@example.org . We will provide a response by 11th September.
