At Notre Dame, there has been a long and fruitful tradition of Sixth Form students playing a role in the wider school community. There are opportunities for students to volunteer in various capacities in and around school. Each year, for example, a number of our students help at St Marie’s RC Primary School, as classroom assistants and in a variety of other roles. Within school, Sixth Form students have the opportunity to mentor younger pupils with Literacy, Numeracy, and many other subjects. They also play a key role in the many clubs and societies at Notre Dame, such as the Eco-team and the Science Club, as well as helping admin staff.
Sixth Form volunteering not only helps to make our school a genuine community. It is also a great opportunity for our Y12 and Y13 students to acquire skills and experience which are greatly valued by universities and employers.
Below is a list of the current volunteering experiences our Y12 students participate in each week during Wednesday form time.
