The public sector Equality Duty, came into force on 5 April 2011. The Equality Duty ensures that all public bodies play their part in making society fairer by tackling discrimination and providing equality of opportunity for all. Under the equality duty, we are required to publish relevant information regarding our compliance with the duty and to set and publish equality objectives. You can find our Equality Objectives along with a summary of the way in which we respond to this duty at Notre Dame High School in the document below. As explained in the document, we publish information relating to our compliance with the duty in the head teachers report to the governors, so that governors can critically review the extent to which we meet the aims of the duty. As much of the information could be used to identify individual students and/or members of staff, we do not publish the data here on the website. We will, however, provide on request a commentary on the review by governors following their Spring Term meeting (from 2013 onwards).
