FLAME EVENT – WEMBLEY ARENA

The UK’s largest Catholic youth conference gathered in the OVO Arena Wembley on Saturday, 15 March 2025.   It was such an incredible gathering of over 10,800 young people from across England and Wales, the day was filled with inspiring speakers, uplifting live music, prayer, and adoration, making it an event like no other.

The morning opened with a moving prayer liturgy before we heard from performances by One Hope Project, Adenike, and Guvna B. Bear Grylls was featured in an interview with David Wells. The energy continued to build with an impressive performance by the World Youth Dance Crew, followed by powerful messages from Brother Chris Patiño, Ashley & Brian of CAFOD, and SVP’s Restorative Justice, Hallow’s Bryan Enriquez, along with Isaac Harvey.

After an exciting morning of performances and talks, a much needed lunch break gave time for the young people to mix with others. A procession with a liturgy was led by Cardinal Vincent Nichols and young representatives from our Diocese of Hallam. The Blessed Sacrament procession and a much loved period of Adoration in an arena of 11,000, offered a personal encounter with the presence of Jesus.  A moment of pure loveliness.

The celebration closed with a final joyful gathering, to bring such a wonderful, powerful and moving end to the day.. It was wonderful to witness so many young people celebrating their faith, a vibrant reminder that the Church is very much alive. All we need to do is open our eyes and trust in the Lord. Amen.

God bless.

“Flame was such an amazing experience.  To worship openly and praise unapologetically  is so beautiful and so powerful.

The music, dancing, guest speakers, everything, was brilliant and then to be in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, with over 10,800 people in prayer is something I will never forget.  A transformative moment.”

“I enjoyed working with the SVP at FLAMRE.  I made lots of new friends and we walked around with a massive bear promoting the work of CAFOD and delivering messages of hope. I was so delighted to see lots of young people with the same faith as me.  Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was my favourite part because I felt so special and so close to Jesus in that moment. The dances and the guest speakers was really fun and engaging.  I will never forget FLAME 2025 because it made me realise that I am not alone in my faith.  I am UNSTOPPABLE.

“At FLAME, I heard a message that I will never forget. “I am UNSTOPPABLE and WE are UNSTOPPABLE!  Seeing so many young and faithful Christian people in one place, proved to me that the church is still alive and it will not die.  From listening to the drumming, the dancing, the singing and especially the highlight of FLAME was Adoration.  It was so special and I received so many blessings.

We, as a Notre Dame School community are UNSTOPPABLE.”
