Stations of the Cross Musical and Drama – “Born for This”

Over the weekend, we immersed ourselves in the practices for “Born For This,” dedicating both Saturday and Sunday to refining our performance. On Sunday afternoon, we performed at the Immaculate Conception Church in Herringthorpe for a live rendition of the musical drama. The church was full, and as we delivered the portrayal of the Stations of the Cross, some of the congregation were visibly moved.

It was such an amazing thing to be part of! Young people from in and out of the Hallam diocese performed. It was such a special event and the enthusiasm from everyone in the musical was evident. We sang our hearts out and can’t wait to perform it again!

Afterwards, we had the privilege of visiting Fr. May, a dear friend of Suzanne’s, who at 99 years old, still radiated warmth and wisdom. Located just a stone’s throw from the church, Fr. May welcomed us and upon request, we serenaded him with some of the musical’s tunes, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Engaging in heartfelt conversations, we cherished the time spent with him. As we eagerly anticipate our upcoming performance of “Born For This” at school this week, the memories created over the weekend will undoubtedly linger as a testament to the power of faith and community.
